Ticket refund and more: How to proceed

The 2020 a cappella Festival has been cancelled as holding it under the current circumstances would be irresponsible and also involve countless restrictions. But despite all the difficulties, we’re determined to look to the future!

If you’ve already bought tickets for the 2020 festival, you can return them where you bought them by 31 May 2020 for a full refund. Our ticket partners are already working on this, but we ask for your understanding if it may a couple of days until they can help you.

If you don’t need a refund, you might like to donate the ticket price to the a cappella Association, the festival’s organizers (Verein zur Förderung der Vokalmusik "a cappella" e.V.). Doing so would be a most generous gesture which would make an important contribution to ensuring that the a cappella Festival and the a cappella Contest can continue to take place in the future. The costs already incurred are a severe financial challenge for the association and we’d be grateful for all and any support. However, please only do so if you are really willing to do so. After all, we realize that in these trying times, many people are (or may be) beset by financial hardship.

If you decide to donate the ticket price and would like a donation receipt, please send your purchased tickets to:

Verein zur Förderung der Vokalmusik „a cappella“ e.V.
z.Hd. Tobias Rosenthal
Landsberger Strasse 1
04157 Leipzig

Any queries should be addressed to Tobias Rosenthal (tel: +49 (0)341 9918 7150; email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ).

If you don’t take any action regarding your tickets, the association will automatically receive the money you paid from the ticket agency.

By the way, nearly all the ensembles invited in 2020 have been rebooked for the a cappella Festival in the next year or two. This means we’ll be able to restage the bulk of this year’s programme at the festival in 2021.

Moreover, we’re currently working hard on an alternative programme for this year so you’ll still be able to enjoy a cappella from the comfort of your living room. To find out exactly what you’ll be able to see and hear from 1 to 9 May 2020, watch this space!
