Information about venues

Eva Ullmann is a speaker, author, and above all a humour coach! After studying teaching and medicine and then working in psychological training for medical students, in 2005 she founded the German Institute of Humour in Leipzig. The institute’s aims are to make businesses, hospitals and schools more aware of the need for humour in their activities and to reinforce humour in their everyday communication. The fact that music and humour have much in common is something we’ve learned from concert introductions by Eva Ullmann in previous years, not to mention from her contributions to the series of essays published by the festival. Her talk at a cappella 2019 will open our eyes and ears to several humorous episodes and anecdotes in the history of music as well as to how humour operates – both by itself and in connection with music.
