What makes the Freiburg-based vocal band anders a little different? Perhaps it’s their open, refreshingly unpretentious manner. At any rate, they have mastered the art of a cappella pop with ease and built up a reputation as true a cappella pop poets. Their own songs range from witty to deeply moving, combining a modern sound with intelligent lyrics and irresistibly catchy melodies – all hallmarks of this five-strong ensemble.

Their distinctive style has earned them plenty of recognition: in 2019, anders won a CARA for Best European A Cappella Album as well as the Pop category at vokal.total Graz, followed by first prize in Aarhus in 2024. Their new programme ‘So kurz davor’ (‘So Close’) explores moments when everything is at stake. And at a cappella 2026, they’ll go all in twice – with performances in the afternoon and the evening. A cappella with heart, humour and a pop sensibility.
