Now in its sixteenth year, the International a cappella Contest Leipzig once again offers young, up-and-coming a cappella groups a platform and a stage on which to present themselves and hone their skills. Emerging ensembles from around the world are invited to take part, where they will engage with a high-calibre jury, a curious and knowledgeable audience – and, not least, their fellow competitors.
With a single open category free of genre boundaries – as well as a range of events and activities extending beyond the competition itself – the qualifying groups will be encouraged to take away as much creative input, feedback and as many new contacts as possible. For audiences, the competition offers an exciting glimpse into the future of the vocal music scene. Interested ensembles can find full details at www.a-cappella-wettbewerb.de. The deadline for applications is 29 January 2026.
