Founded in the mid-1980s in (of course) the Big Apple, New York Voices are nothing short of vocal jazz royalty. On stage and on record, they have dazzled audiences alike – whether backed by big bands or purely a cappella – and have set the benchmark for the entire scene. After a career spanning 38 years, the quartet have decided it’s time to bow out. But not before – thankfully, and at long last! – stepping onto the a cappella stage in Leipzig. Here, they’ll be delving deep into the jazz canon and their own rich musical history. For the a cappella community, this means a chance to experience another truly iconic ensemble and a genre-defining highlight in the festival’s history.
