a cappella public Lecture with Prof Michael Fuchs

9. May 2026 – 11:00
|
Leipziger Stadtbibliothek (library), Franz Dominic Grassi Raum, ground floor

Whether it’s the development of the singing voice, its role in social settings, the relationship between voice and mind, or the latest findings in voice medicine, the annual a cappella Lecture offers vivid, first-hand insights into the instrument we cherish so deeply – and that defines us all. Our guide through this fascinating territory is Professor Michael Fuchs: head of the Department of Phoniatrics and Audiology at Leipzig University Hospital, an enthusiastic researcher and much sought-after voice specialist, an erstwhile member of St Thomas’s Boys Choir, and not least a long-standing friend of the festival. We look forward to another of his talks, which have become a firm fixture of the Leipzig a cappella Festival and are invariably as entertaining as they are enlightening.
