There’s been a distinct lack of participants from Latin America in recent years, so we’re thrilled that Ordinarius will be appearing at a cappella 2022! Ordinarius perform the music of their homeland Brazil in arrangements for up to six voices, making the ensemble one of Brazil’s most distinctive voices. Enriched with percussion instruments characteristic of their geographical and musical background as well as vocal percussion, Ordinarius transform traditional songs by Brazilian musicians such as Rosa Passos, Antônio Carlos Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes into a modern a cappella version of South American music culture. Following tours of Japan, the USA and Europe, and having released their sixth album (recorded for and with the support of their fans during the pandemic), it’s now time for Ordinarius to make their debut at the a cappella Festival in Leipzig.
